How you can help

As a registered charity we rely solely on fundraising activities for our income.  These include fundraising events, donations from the public and local businesses, income from hall hire, book sales and grant applications to charitable trusts.  Our income has reduced greatly since Covid struck, so we are working on alternative ways of generating some income to meet our running costs and to contribute towards our fundraising appeal for refurbishment.

Here are some very simple things you could do to help us raise much needed funds.

Easyfundraising

Please use easyfundraising when you shop online and raise FREE DONATIONS for Fincham Memorial Hall at the same time!
M&S, Clarks, WHSmith, The Works, John Lewis and thousands of other retailers will give us much needed free donations when you use easyfundraising to shop with them – at no extra cost to you.
If you’re not signed up to easyfundraising yet, it’s really quick and easy - click here to start. And to check out all the online shops offering donations via Easyfundraising, visit this page.

Amazon Smile

If you ever shop at Amazon for home or your business you can generate free donations for us by starting your shopping at Amazon Smile and selecting us as your good cause.  Amazon will donate 50p to us for every £100 spent, and every penny helps us.

Click the image on the left to choose us as your charity, and we'll receive a few pence for every purchase you make.  It won't cost you anything extra, the prices are the same but we will receive a small donation. Click here to start.

Glass Recycling at the Memorial Hall

If you live locally, instead of putting your glass bottles and jars into your green recycling bin, it would really help us if you could take them to the village hall bottle bank instead - you'll find it in the car park.

You could then save space in your bin for other recyclables, and help to raise funds for us in the process.  The money received for all glass collected at the village hall bottle bank is passed on to us, so by using this facility you'll be raising funds for us.

DIY or Gardening Skills

If you are able to help with the maintenance of the building or grounds, we would love to hear from you!  Currently a very small number of volunteers help with the upkeep and maintenance in a voluntary capacity, and we'd very much like to expand the team of volunteers who can help.  You don't have to be a tradesman (though tradesmen are welcome too), there are always jobs to be done - from gardening to decorating and many things in between.  With a few more volunteers we could set up a socially-distanced action day, and allocate an hour or two to each person (or however long you can spare).  It would be a great way to make more friends in the village, and we'd be extremely grateful for your time and help.  If you are interested, please email Jan at finchammemorialhall@gmail.com.
